Founded in 2000, the Meir Panim has been working to eliminate hunger and food insecurity for the citizens of Israel. Their team is dedicated to providing food and nutritious meals to anyone with financial difficulties and emotional distress without making them feel bad. Despite being a house of many rich people and large enterprises, there is a great need for charity for Israel.

Why charity for Israel?

Israel is relatively a small country in the Middle East with around 8.7 million people living in it. The country got independence in 1948 and still needs lots of development to be done. It is estimated that around 25% of people living in Israel are facing extreme food insecurity and around 40% of these people are living with hunger. These people don’t have access to proper food every night due to unemployment or an inconsistent source of income.

Unfortunately, the Government isn’t doing anything to help people fight hunger and poverty as much as it could. This leaves many people on their own. Here comes the role of non-profit organizations like Meir Panim who are doing everything with the help of other jews to eliminate food insecurity and bring foot on the table of every person in need.

How to do charity for Israel?

There are lots of ways you can help the Jewish community. Meir Panim isn’t just delivering food but also running several other projects to address various challenges encountered by Israeli people.

Meir Panim cooks and delivers meals for children, runs after-school clubs specially designed for needy children and teens living below the poverty line, prepares special food packages before holidays, distributes food and Shabbat to old citizens living alone or lone soldiers who have no one to cook food for them.

Meir Panim also distributes grocery shopping cards to deserving families to purchase food from retail chains. Tens of thousands of people have visited their dining centers and enjoy hot, delicious food for free. This can’t be possible without charity for Israel.
